Ashley Joseph

Resident Director

Ashley Joseph has worked successfully as an Actor, Writer, Presenter and Director. As an actor he has worked with Lenny Henry in a show for BBC Comedy, as well as EastendersTwelfth Night (Nottingham Playhouse), The Warriors (Barbican), ITV2s All About the McKenizes and onscreen opposite Boris Kodjoe in the movie Nicole & OJ. His Presenting work has taken him around the world working with MTV Base and Live Nation where he has introduced acts like Usher, Akon, Black Eyed Peas, Enrique Iglesias and Ellie Goulding as well as presenting many festivals across the UK include Latitude, Love Music Hate Racism and the 2012 Olympics & Paralympics for Locog and Channel 4. His Writing work includes 5’s A Crowd, 13:60, series 2 & 3 of the Award- winning BBC series JoJo & Gran Gran, the first Black British BBC animated series (he also voices the character Jared). Ashley is currently writing on two classified TV projects for Halo Kids and Cartoon Saloon production company as well as co-writing a new musical with Sadlers Wells. His Directing work includes; Blank (National Theatre Connections), Do Not Pop (National Tour), the hit improvised comedy show ACTing Up which spanned a decade of work entertaining thousands of audiences in several theatres throughout the UK. He also Co-Directed the web series Come Dine with Man, was the Resident Director for BD Actors touring company and most recently Associate Director for the Black Art Matters Initiative in association with the Arts Council. @Sir_AshleyJ
