Deputy Musical Director

Benjamin trained in jazz piano at Trinity College of Music, then gained a Masters in Scoring for Film, Television & Video Games from Berklee College of Music.

Theatre includes: Best of Enemies (Young Vic), A Taste of Honey (UK Tour and Trafalgar Studios), Small Island (National Theatre – Musical Director Recognition award at Black British Theatre Awards), Dick Whittington (National Theatre). 

As Assistant Musical Director: Memphis (Shaftesbury), One Love (Birmingham Rep), Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar & Grill (Wyndham’s) and A Clockwork Orange (Theatre Royal Stratford East).

As Composer: PROPS: a six-part radio series (Documental Theatre), and Best of Enemies (Young Vic)

Film includes: Shortcut, and Shiney. Benjamin is on the Netflix composer internship for Top Boy.

Benjamin was recently music director for Coventry Moves, a city-wide event as part of Coventry City of Culture 2021, MD of the House and Garage Orchestra and has performed, composed and arranged for bands & artists including Akala, Zara McFarlane, Cape Verdean jazz singer Carmen Souza, Jazz Jamaica, the Jazz Jamaica All Stars Big Band and the  New Civilization Orchestra. Benjamin arranged the music played by Chineke! Junior Orchestra on their run to the semi-finals of Britain's Got Talent 2020.
